about

“Silhouette” is about the heartbreak that comes along with loving and losing someone. It’s about learning how to let go, even when it seems impossible. The lush blend of vocal harmony, mixed with sorrowful pedal steel and other emotional instrumental textures reflect the bittersweet nature of the lyrics.

lyrics

I was wondering where you’d go
Into the light the air or the snow
The only thing that I know is it’s too soon to leave
So please, come back to me
Wherever you go, come back to me

But a friendly glow
Welcomed you home
Happily you followed
Ran towards it faster than most
If there had been a chance
That you could’ve stayed
I’d have chased it ‘till the sun rose
Such an art to letting someone go
Gotta trust and know that you’re forever home

Stuck here wondering where you’ll be
A part of the sky or the air that we breathe
But wherever you are, I can’t help but believe
That you are here with me
Wherever you are, you’re still here with me

But a friendly glow
Welcomed you home
Happily you followed
Ran towards it faster than most
If there had been a chance
That you could’ve stayed
I’d have chased it ‘till the sun rose
Such an art to letting someone go
Gotta trust and know that you’re forever home

Skyward silhouettes, heaven delights in you (No ear has heard, no eye has seen)
Skyward silhouettes, we’re all just passing through (No ear has heard, no mind has conceived)

But a friendly glow
Welcomed you home
Happily you followed
Ran towards it faster than most
If there had been a chance
That you could’ve stayed
I’d have chased it ‘till the sun rose
Such an art to letting someone go
Gotta trust and know that you’re forever home
